2023 Price Range Enumeration

One of the routine surveys conducted by BPS is the National Socioeconomic Survey (Susenas) which is conducted in March and August. Before field enumerators collect data on households, supervisors go to the field to record price ranges at markets and shops around the selected census blocks. The purpose of collecting data on price ranges is as a reference for data collection to minimize errors when respondents do not know the quantity or price of the goods and services they consume.

Given the busyness of BPS activities, currently data collection on price ranges is not only done in the morning or afternoon. Even at night, officers visited one of the traders at Pasar Anyar to record the commodities in the store. Luckily, the respondents already knew the officers because they had been respondents to the Wholesale Price Survey so that the data collection process went smoothly.
