Abstract

In June 2021, Central Java experienced deflation - 0.17 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.05. Of the six CPI cities in Central Java, all cities experienced deflation.
The main cause of deflation in Central Java in June 2021 will be lower prices for purebred chicken, red chilies, bird's eye chilies, cellphones and coconuts. The main deterrents to deflation in Central Java were rising prices for cars, purebred chicken eggs, gold jewelry, artisans who were not foremen, and filter clove cigarettes.
The June 2021 calendar year inflation rate is 0.51 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (June 2021 against June 2020) is 1.25 percent.
