Improving SP2KP Data Quality

Thursday (21/3), Head of the Pekalongan City Central Statistics Agency, Drs. Rahyudin, M.Si, was a resource person at the Strengthening the Capacity of SP2KP Data Inputing Officers in Improving SP2KP Data Quality in the Buketan Meeting Room of the Pekalongan City Regional Secretariat.

In this event, which was opened directly by the Mayor of Pekalongan, the Consumer Price Survey Methodology (SHK) and the Price Change Index (IPH) were explained.

Pekalongan City is not included in the 150 regencies/cities in Indonesia designated for calculating inflation. However, because of the importance of inflation indicators in determining regional economic policy, a proxy indicator for the Consumer Price Index (CPI)/inflation has been prepared which is called the Price Change Indicator (IPH).

The calculation method is the same as the CPI calculation method with slight modifications. The commodities monitored are only 20 food commodities that have the highest weight in calculating the CPI/inflation. The price data used comes from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Needs Market Monitoring System (SP2KP).

With this IPH, it is hoped that districts/cities that have not been appointed to calculate inflation will still have accurate data on changes in prices of basic necessities as a basis for policy making in the economic sector.
