BPS Pekalongan City Ensures Industrial Data Quality through the 2026 DPA Updating
April 19, 2026 | BPS Activities
KOTA PEKALONGAN – In an effort to maintain the accuracy of the manufacturing industry database as a key driver of the regional economy, Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Pekalongan City conducted field supervision for the Large and Medium Manufacturing Industry Survey, along with the updating of the Initial Company Directory (DPA) in early 2026. This activity focuses on updating company data to keep it relevant and aligned with the rapidly evolving economic dynamics in Pekalongan City.
This updating process is crucial to ensure that the information in the Statistical Business Register reflects actual conditions in the field. Officers carry out in-depth verification of various variables, including company operational status, address updates, and technical characteristics such as the number of employees and production capacity. Valid data will enable the government to map the potential and challenges of the manufacturing sector more precisely.
In its implementation, field teams utilize Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy in data collection. In addition to conducting direct interviews with company representatives, officers also perform geotagging to accurately capture the coordinates of business locations. This digital approach supports the integration of statistical data with more modern spatial information systems.
The success of this data updating effort is expected to provide a strong foundation for developing survey sampling frames as well as future economic development policies. Strong collaboration between BPS Pekalongan City and business actors remains key to producing high-quality industrial data that supports more inclusive economic growth.
