Badan Pusat Statistik Pekalongan Strengthens Regional Stability Database Through Statpolkam 2026

May 4, 2026 | BPS Activities

PEKALONGAN – Badan Pusat Statistik Pekalongan City has once again carried out the Political and Security Statistics (Statpolkam) data collection as a strategic effort to assess regional stability and democratic development in the area. The activity was scheduled to take place intensively on April 17 and 22, 2026, targeting various government institutions and related legal agencies. The primary focus of this annual data collection is to gather accurate secondary data in order to provide a comprehensive overview of the evolving socio-political conditions.

Unlike census methods that generally involve direct visits to residential areas, Statpolkam is conducted through the compilation of administrative data and official visits to vertical agencies. In its implementation, the BPS team coordinated with the Police Department to collect crime statistics and visited the Kesbangpol office to obtain in-depth information regarding the development of community organizations and potential social conflicts in the field.

In addition to security aspects, the data collection also examined legislative and political dynamics by visiting the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) Secretariat to document regional legal products that had been issued. Considering the importance of public participation data, BPS also collaborated with the Komisi Pemilihan Umum and Badan Pengawas Pemilihan Umum to record post-election political dynamics. All collected data will later be processed into key indicators to support the government in formulating strategic policies aimed at maintaining a conducive environment in Pekalongan City.
